![]() I was recently asked what having a Church Home means. This is an excellent question; I will answer it in this blog post. A church home is more than just a place where someone attends services - it's a spiritual family where believers grow in faith, serve together, and find support in their walk with Christ. Here is a simple way to explain it: 1. A Place of Worship - You gather regularly to praise God, study His Word, and have communion with our creator and Savior. 2. A Spiritual Family - Just as a home provides love and belonging, a church home surrounds you with fellow believers who encourage and challenge you to grow spiritually (Hebrews 10:24-25). 3. A Place of Growth - Through teaching, fellowship, and discipleship, a church home helps deepen your understanding of self and God's Word, how to live it out (Ephesians 4:11-16). 4. A Place to Serve - God calls us to receive and give, using our gifts and talents to build up the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-27). 5. A Source of Support - Life has challenges, and a church home provides a network of prayer, encouragement, and care during difficult times (Galatians 6:2). Ultimately, a church home is where faith is nurtured, relationships are strengthened, and purpose is lived out in a Christ-centered community.

Well said Barry! But may I add a bit? I also think it's a place of unquestioned acceptance. A place to turn when the world, or your physical family, might not understand. It's the place to go when you need to be lifted in prayer. It's the place to find love, and friendship, and peace when the outside world doesn't see who we are, or what we're going through.
